Research Assistant

Alka Bala is a Project Researcher at the G20 & G7 Health and Development Partnership, focused on the Health Taxonomy. Her work involves strengthening the Health Investment framework and supporting the Partnership’s stakeholder outreach and its engagement around the H20 Summit.

Alka brings experience in policy research, stakeholder coordination and programme delivery. She previously worked as a Qualitative Data Analyst at the Centre for Education Systems, producing policy analysis on curriculum, accountability and SEND policy (special educational needs and disabilities) across 14 OECD countries as part of Nuffield Foundation-supported research, and as a Research Assistant at the National Institute of Advanced Studies, authoring published research on European political economy and ocean governance. She holds an MSc in International Social and Public Policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science, where her dissertation drew on field research in Kerala to examine post-disaster social protection for landslide-affected communities.
