Professor Troyjo played key leadership roles in multilateralism, government, business, academia, and the public debate on economic development.
He served as Brazil’s Deputy Economy Minister and Special Secretary for Foreign Trade & International Affairs. As President of the New Development Bank (NDB), he was the first westerner to lead a multilateral organisation headquartered in Asia.
Professor Troyjo is a Transformational Leadership Fellow at the University of Oxford, a Distinguished Fellow at INSEAD’s Hoffmann Global Institute for Business and Society and an Associate Professor at Fundação Dom Cabral (FDC), Brazil’s leading business school. He is member of the World Economic Forum (WEF). He was co-founder and co-director of the BRICLab at Columbia | SIPA, where he taught international and public affairs, and lectured extensively at universities and research centres around the world. He was also Director of the Intelligent Tech & Trade Initiative (ITTI), at the International Chamber of Commerce.
An economist, political scientist, and diplomat, he holds a Master’s and a PhD in sociology of international relations from the University of São Paulo and pursued postdoctoral studies at Columbia University. Professor Troyjo has authored books on development, technology and global affairs.
